Japanese – English Interpreter and Translator

Position Overview

As an Interpreter, you will play a key role in facilitating clear and accurate communication between Japanese and English speaking stakeholders in technical and on-site environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken communication between Japanese and English during meetings, conferences, construction sites, and machinery installation activities
• Translate and proofread written materials, ensuring accuracy, context, and intent are preserved
• Convey technical questions, requests, and dialogue clearly and appropriately
• Work closely with subject matter experts to understand specialized terminology
• Support both written and oral communication as needed
• Submit translations for review when required
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with company policies
• Stay up to date with language usage and terminology in both languages

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an interpreter, preferably in machinery manufacturing or installation environments
• Fluency in Japanese and English
• Strong proofreading and editing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Understanding of cultural nuances in both languages
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
