Assistant Manager – Japanese Bilingual

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Manager who can lead by example and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This role functions as the right hand to the General Manager and plays a vital part in driving sales, supporting staff, and maintaining the premium in-store experience our customers expect.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

• Act as the acting manager when the General Manager is away
• Oversee daily operations including store opening and closing (Key Holder duties)
• Maintain cash drawers, calculate daily deposits, and oversee register functionality
• Coordinate and manage staff work shifts
• Ensure merchandise is regularly replenished and mannequins are kept updated
• Assist in floor and visual merchandising under the direction of the Buyer and General Manager

Customer Experience

• Provide exceptional customer service and promptly resolve any customer concerns or complaints
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, cultivating a loyal customer base
• Handle in-store conflict resolution and escalate personnel issues to HR or senior management when necessary
• Sales & Product Expertise
• Lead by example with strong selling skills that inspire and guide the Sales Stylists
• Monitor and communicate individual sales goals and provide coaching to support performance
• Maintain deep knowledge and enthusiasm for our designers and seasonal collections
• Loss Prevention & Inventory
• Be vigilant on the sales floor to minimize loss prevention risks
• Organize and execute semi-annual inventory counts

Qualifications

• Fluency in Japanese and English (both written and verbal) is required.
• Experience in luxury retail, preferably in apparel
• Proactive, positive, and adaptable attitude
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
• Highly organized with great attention to detail
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods (up to four hours)

Physically able to:

Reach, bend, lift (up to 15 lbs)

Move rolling clothing racks (up to 30 lbs)

Use stairs as needed
