Compensation: From $95,000 annually

Company Overview

A U.S.-based manufacturer of printing inks, colorants, and functional materials is seeking an experienced professional to manage an onsite ink room operation supporting a key customer facility.

Position Summary

The Plant Ink Room Manager / Chemist serves as the primary onsite liaison between the ink supplier and customer while overseeing daily ink room operations. This position leads and develops ink technicians, manages liquid ink inventory, supports color matching and blending, and ensures safe, efficient, high-quality ink supply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily onsite ink room operations and supplier-customer relationships.
  • Lead, coach, and support ink technicians with emphasis on safety and ink knowledge.
  • Maintain liquid ink inventory and ensure timely product availability.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, training programs, and audit processes.
  • Conduct process audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs.
  • Perform and support color matching and ink blending activities.
  • Participate in customer meetings and provide technical/operational support.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, waste, chemical, and hazardous-material handling requirements.
  • Maintain 5S standards throughout ink lab and dispensing areas.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of Flexographic ink production management experience.
  • 5+ years of color matching and blending experience.
  • Spanish language ability required for job-related communication.
  • Experience handling hazardous materials.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally with employees and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Preferred:

  • College or technical training.
  • Forklift certification.
  • HazMat certification.
  • Shipping/receiving experience.
