A global industrial robotics and automation company is seeking an experienced engineer to join its Semiconductor Robot Engineering team. The organization develops robotic automation solutions for a wide range of industrial applications worldwide.

Position Summary

The Robotic Application Engineer leads the development, testing, and maintenance of robotic products and applications for the semiconductor industry. This position works cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, software, and prototype engineering teams and provides technical and field support for customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer requests involving semiconductor robotic applications.
  • Lead prototype design projects from development through completion, ensuring project requirements and timelines are met.
  • Coordinate and provide technical direction to mechanical, electrical, software, and prototype teams.
  • Create CAD drawings, 3D models, and engineering documentation based on customer and application requirements.
  • Troubleshoot robotic systems and provide technical guidance for system issues.
  • Support customers onsite, including domestic and international travel.
  • Communicate complex engineering concepts and technical solutions through documentation and presentations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year college degree) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of application engineering experience in automation or the semiconductor industry involving vacuum-environment equipment.
  • Experience with both 3D and 2D CAD software.
  • Knowledge of automation systems, including operating principles, key components, and major failure modes.
  • Understanding of basic programming logic.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain and present complex technical concepts.
  • Ability to quickly understand and implement new engineering concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to provide onsite customer support and travel domestically or internationally.

Preferred:

  • AutoCAD experience.
  • NX experience.
  • Experience with robotic systems designed for vacuum environments.

Other Details

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, walk, and stand while handling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use common mechanical tools, including screwdrivers, hex keys, and torque wrenches.
  • Position includes hands-on engineering, prototype development, troubleshooting, and customer-site support.
