【Job Summary】
A global entertainment company is seeking a bilingual English/Japanese Paralegal to support its Legal Department. This position will assist with intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright portfolio management, as well as contract administration and legal operations.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in IP and contract-related matters, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while working with internal teams, overseas affiliates, and outside counsel.
【Key Responsibilities】
・Serve as a liaison with overseas headquarters and internal teams regarding trademark and copyright matters
・Coordinate with outside counsel to manage trademark and copyright portfolios
・Assist with preliminary clearance searches, filings, and prosecution support
・Support IP enforcement matters by coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders
・Review potential infringements and prepare summaries or recommendations
・Track and manage contract requests, approvals, signatures, and contract records
・Maintain records in the Legal Department’s Contract Lifecycle Management System
・Assist with drafting or redlining contracts as needed
・Prepare reports, summaries, purchase orders, and other legal-related documents
・Conduct legal research and provide general administrative support to the Legal Department
・Attend and coordinate meetings related to assigned legal matters
・Perform other duties as assigned
【Qualifications】
・Bachelor’s degree required
・3–5 years of relevant paralegal experience, either in-house or at a law firm
・Paralegal Certificate required
・Fluent English and Japanese communication skills, both written and verbal
・Experience with intellectual property law, including trademark and copyright clearance, filings, and prosecution
・Experience with contracts and understanding of contract provisions
・Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
・Excellent written and verbal communication skills
・Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
・Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
・Ability to work with people from different departments, cultures, and work styles
・Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
・Experience using AI tools or automated workflow tools is a plus
