Assignment Details:

Position: Temporary Executive Interpreter (Japanese/English)

Location: Morris Plains, New Jersey (On-site)

Schedule: July 13 and July 16, 2026

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Interpretation Style: Consecutive Interpretation

Compensation: Approximately $80–$100/hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

Position Summary

A global manufacturing company is seeking a highly professional Japanese/English Executive Interpreter to support executive-level meetings during a business visit to its U.S. office.

The interpreter will provide consecutive interpretation during one-on-one meetings between a senior executive from Japan and the U.S. management team. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss the current business environment, organizational initiatives, strategic direction, and operational challenges in the U.S. market.

This assignment requires excellent executive communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to accurately convey the intent and nuance of discussions involving senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Japanese/English consecutive interpretation during executive-level one-on-one meetings.
  • Interpret discussions related to business strategy, organizational changes, corporate management, and operational priorities.
  • Accurately communicate the speaker's intent, tone, and business context between Japanese and English.
  • Facilitate smooth communication between Japan headquarters and U.S. management.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive business information.
  • Support productive discussions in a professional and neutral manner.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience interpreting for executives, senior management, or board-level meetings.
  • Strong consecutive interpretation skills in Japanese and English.
  • Experience supporting one-on-one meetings and small-group business discussions.
  • Solid understanding of corporate management, business strategy, organizational transformation, and cross-cultural communication.
  • Ability to interpret complex business conversations clearly and accurately.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
  • Industry-specific experience is not required; however, familiarity with general business terminology in management, sales, and marketing is preferred.
