Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Construction Superintendent to support a large-scale semiconductor construction project focused on Ultra Pure Water (UPW) systems. This role will oversee mechanical construction activities, including piping installation, equipment installation, subcontractor coordination, and project execution from design and procurement through commissioning and final turnover.

The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial piping, process systems, water treatment facilities, or semiconductor construction projects and possess strong leadership, planning, and field coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construction Management & Coordination
  • Support mechanical construction activities throughout all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors performing piping, equipment installation, and related mechanical work.
  • Review piping drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, and project specifications to support construction planning and execution.
  • Monitor construction progress and provide timely updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to ensure efficient project execution and schedule alignment.

Leadership & Team Support

  • Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
  • Promote a collaborative, safety-focused, and high-performance work environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Assist with workforce planning, productivity monitoring, and subcontractor performance management.

Quality, Cost & Schedule Control

  • Perform constructability reviews and identify potential project risks.
  • Support project scheduling, sequencing, and recovery planning efforts.
  • Monitor material deliveries, procurement status, and resource availability.
  • Verify installation quality and ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Support quality assurance activities, field inspections, pressure testing, flushing, equipment inspections, and system verification.

Project Controls & Reporting

  • Participate in project meetings, schedule reviews, RFI management, and change order discussions.
  • Assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and progress reporting.
  • Review project progress, identify potential delays or cost impacts, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support preparation of construction procedures, method statements, and work instructions.
  • Coordinate subcontractor reporting, manpower tracking, and productivity reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction, industrial construction, or semiconductor facility projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory, field coordination, or construction leadership experience.
  • Experience with industrial piping systems, process utilities, water treatment systems, or similar facility infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, and construction documentation.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with semiconductor facility construction projects.
  • Experience supporting UPW, WWT, CMP, PCW, or other process utility systems.
  • Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and SEMI standards.
  • Experience supporting commissioning and startup activities.
  • Working knowledge of BIM software such as Revit or Navisworks.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Japanese or Chinese language skills are a plus.
  • B-1 General Commercial Contractor license or progress toward licensure is a plus.
