Factory Office Staff / Translator & Interpreter (Japanese-English) – Manufacturing Industry

Location: Cullman, Alabama

Employment Type: Full-time / Direct Hire

Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 DOE /Exempt

Work shedule: 7:30am-4:30pm with 1 hour lunch

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and bilingual Factory Office Staff / Translator & Interpreter to join a manufacturing facility in Alabama. This position is ideal for candidates who are interested in manufacturing and production environments, including entry-level applicants with strong Japanese-English communication skills.

The primary responsibility is interpretation and translation support for factory operations and meetings. In addition, this role will also support data analysis, reporting, and administrative coordination across multiple departments.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cross-cultural communication, problem-solving, and working closely with both Japanese expatriates and local team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and translate documents and communications between Japanese and English
  • Provide interpretation support during meetings and daily factory operations
  • Perform simultaneous interpretation when required
  • Support Japanese expatriate staff
  • Assist with production planning and coordination
  • Support departments such as Production, Quality, Planning, and Safety
  • Analyze and manage departmental data and reports
  • Facilitate proactive communication between Japanese management and local employees
  • Participate in additional projects and administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Japanese-English bilingual proficiency is required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Interest in manufacturing, production, or monozukuri (craftsmanship/manufacturing culture) preferred
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome
  • Prior interpretation experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills preferred
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges
