Summary of the Position:
This position plays a key role in driving sales growth and expanding market presence within the food industry. The Sales Associate will build strong relationships with distributors and restaurant clients while promoting high-quality food products.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food culture, enjoys working directly with customers, and thrives in a dynamic, relationship-driven sales environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and restaurant clients
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outreach and networking
- Expand and manage existing accounts to drive sales growth
Sales Activities & Customer Engagement
- Conduct regular client visits within assigned territories (including out-of-state travel)
- Present products and propose solutions based on customer needs
- Support product demonstrations, tastings, trade shows, and sales presentations
- Provide timely and high-quality customer service
Sales Operations & Market Insights
- Track and maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions
- Gather market intelligence and support sales strategy development
- Collaborate with internal teams and distributor partners to ensure smooth operations
- Participate in weekend work and travel as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of sales experience in manufacturing or distribution
- 2+ years of experience in the food industry preferred
- Experience working with food distributors and/or restaurant clients
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to present products to groups effectively
- Willingness to travel domestically (including outside of California)
- Valid driver’s license required
