Salary:

Entry level: 50k~ 60k

Experienced: ~90k (DOE)

Position Summary:

The company is seeking a versatile and driven Automotive Sales Representative for our Automotive Division in Novi, Michigan. This person will support program development efforts with existing customers and expand the company business into new OEMs and Tier suppliers. The candidate will manage the programs with team members and create the business strategy for expanding business with Sales Manager and/or General Manager.

 

Essential Job Functions / Duties:

Responsible for expanding sales with existing customers and developing new business with both new and existing customers by matching the company's automotive technology with customers' applications. Position prefers a person who is sales driven and possesses strong engineering and technical skills. Also, responsible for analysis of the budget and mid-term plan with Deputy General Manager, as well as, to coordination with our manufacturing plant and other regions to support activities.

 

Perform the following duties of a Sales Representative independently and/or with both team and General manager: 

  • Manage existing customer accounts, conduct commercial negotiations and pursue new business opportunities in order to increase company's overall sales.
  • Maintain close communication with customers' purchasing and engineering contacts through frequent visits, TEAMS/Skype/Webex meetings and / or phone calls.
  • Identifies and researches markets and recommends targets, secures customer interest and be able to convey to customer the company’s products to grow sales.
  • Performs customer visit, presentations and promotional activities in order to develop new customers with team.
  • Create business plan, manage the progress and report the status to Deputy General manager timely and correctly.

 

Required tasks:

  • Plans, schedules and coordinates customer meetings and internal.
  • Document and maintain existing customers and new project opportunity.
  • Reports progress of business development, customer visit reports regularly.
  • Maintain monthly sales projections for key customers with understanding market trends and competitors' product strategies.
  • Attend customers' supplier conferences and industry conferences as necessary and accompany customers on audits of company's overseas production facilities as necessary.
  • Collects and analyzes customer forecast information and work business plan with team.
  • Report projects progress to manager and management.
  • Researches, targets and develops new customers and opportunities at current customers.
  • Gather and mine data to conduct market reports as requested by management.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • A degree or diploma in engineering and/or business (preferably mechanical engineering) 
  • Entry and/or Intermediate level experience
  • Preferred Automotive industry experience and knowledge of gearbox (preferably bearing products and/or Hydraulics).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communications skills.
  • Record of accomplishment showing a commitment to customer service, successful teamwork and continuously self-motivated work in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office software, especially MS PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Ability to travel 30% or less.
