Accounting & Administrative Assistant

Location: Torrance, CA

Employment Type: Full-time

Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with a 1-hour paid lunch break)

Work Style: Hybrid WFH on Fridays and every other Monday (subject to change, not guaranteed)

Salary: 50k/year+ (DOE) + Bonus (not guaranteed)

Job Overview

Our client company is seeking a bilingual Accounting & Administrative Assistant to support their finance and administrative operations. This entry-level role primarily focuses on Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks while also handling general administrative and reception duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a bilingual (English/Japanese) environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance (Primary Focus)

  • Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
  • Assist in reconciling bank statements and financial records.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and clients regarding invoices and payments.

Administrative & Reception Duties

  • Perform general office administrative tasks such as data entry and filing.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and inquiries professionally.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating internal meetings.
  • Support office management functions, including supply ordering and vendor coordination.
  • Help with other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bilingual skills preferred (English & Japanese)
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Some experience in AP/AR or general accounting is a plus, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work both independently and as part of a team.
