Position Summary

The Quality Manager leads and oversees quality management systems to ensure consistent production aligned with customer requirements, internal standards, and IATF 16949 regulations. This role manages quality engineers, inspectors, and the sorting department, while driving continuous improvement, compliance, and operational efficiency across production and quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems compliant with customer, internal, IATF 16949, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead quality engineers, inspectors, and sorting department operations, including staffing plans and performance reviews
  • Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), root cause analysis (RCA), and minimum process requirements (MPR)
  • Analyze quality data, inspections, and testing results to ensure product reliability and process integrity
  • Coordinate with production and plant leadership to improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiency
  • Oversee supplier quality and support process certifications and audits
  • Track daily quality issues, production targets, inventory, and equipment usage
  • Develop and deliver quality training and support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience; fastener or automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards and production control
  • Experience with CAPA, RCA, MPR, and statistical quality tools
  • 4+ years of leadership experience
  • IATF 16949 auditor experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and quality control software (PLEX UX preferred)
  • Blueprint reading, quality inspection, and manufacturing technology expertise
  • Japanese language skills are a plus

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing environment with PPE requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended shifts and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Up to 10% travel, including audits
