$64,000 – $79,000 (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and bilingual Accountant to support the financial operations of a company managing multiple group entities in the U.S. This position plays a key role in maintaining accounting accuracy, preparing financial reports, and contributing to system improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, culturally adaptable, and comfortable in a collaborative, non-competitive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain subsidiary accounting records and manage various accounting transactions
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and internal reports
- Coordinate with external audit firms for quarterly and annual reviews
- Analyze operational and financial data; prepare variance reports comparing budget vs. actual
- Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and audit requirements
- Support preparation of tax-related documents and manage bank transactions
- Participate in the implementation of new accounting systems and process improvements
Qualifications:
- 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- CPA certification not required (preferred but not mandatory)
- Proficiency in both Japanese and English (business level) is required (reporting to Japan HQ)
- Experience working in a Japanese company or with Japanese business culture is a plus
- Flexible and open-minded personality that fits a traditional yet collaborative culture
- Strong Excel and general systems skills
Reporting Line:
Reports to: Accounting Manager or Treasurer
Supervising: None
Office Environment:
- Approx. 10 employees (mostly in sales and accounting)
- Accounting department: 6–7 people
- Oversees financial operations for 5 related entities
- Quiet, cooperative work environment (non-competitive culture)
