We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ocean Import Coordinator to join our logistics operations team. This is an entry-level position, ideal for candidates who are eager to learn and grow in the field of international logistics. Comprehensive training will be provided.
Documentation Management: Preparing and verifying critical export documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
Shipment Coordination: Booking cargo space with steamship lines, arranging inland transportation (drayage) for container pickup, and scheduling terminal deliveries.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all shipments adhere to U.S. export laws, filing AES (Automated Export System) records, and maintaining knowledge of international trade regulations (e.g., Incoterms).
Communication & Tracking: Serving as the primary contact for clients and overseas agents, providing real-time tracking updates, and proactively resolving delays.
Financial Processing: Managing billing, verifying freight rates against contracts, approving vendor invoices, and handling cost accruals
Qualifications
Entry-level; no prior logistics experience required.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Proficiency in English and business-level or higher Japanese language skills required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented office environment.
