Construction Site Manager (Water Treatment Systems)

Salary Range: $100,000 – $110,000
Work Location: On-site, 5 days per week
Travel: ~25% to project sites outside Arizona
Position Summary
The Construction Site Manager oversees on-site construction of water treatment systems, with full responsibility for safety, quality, schedule, and contractor coordination. Acting as the primary on-site representative, this role manages daily construction activities, coordinates contractors and suppliers, reviews drawings and progress, and resolves field issues to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
On-Site Construction Management (Primary Focus)
- Manage daily on-site construction activities for water treatment systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate site setup, temporary facilities, and safety equipment in accordance with regulatory and client requirements.
- Plan and manage delivery, staging, and installation of SKID units, equipment, and materials based on drawings and site conditions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and partner companies; proactively identify and resolve field issues.
- Track construction progress against the schedule and work with contractors to implement recovery plans when delays occur.
- Verify construction work aligns with approved P&ID, piping, and layout drawings and specified materials.
- Maintain accurate construction documentation and consolidate contractor records.
- Participate in client and construction coordination meetings and incorporate requirements into site execution.
Reporting, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare concise weekly progress reports highlighting status, risks, and corrective actions.
- Escalate safety concerns, schedule impacts, cost risks, or unforeseen site conditions promptly to management.
- Promote continuous improvement in site execution, safety practices, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain high ethical standards, clear communication, and a safe, organized job site.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- 5+ years of on-site construction management experience in water treatment, industrial facilities, or large-scale piping projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Technical & Software Skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction and engineering drawings (P&ID, piping, layout).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM, or similar tools for drawing review and issue resolution (no drafting required).
- Proficiency with MS Office; MS Project experience preferred.
Certifications & Licensing
- Valid Driver’s License required
- OSHA 30-Hour (Construction) and OSHA 510 required or willingness to obtain
- EIT preferred
- EHS certifications (ASP or CSP) preferred; CSP strongly preferred
- Specialized safety training (HAZWOPER, NFPA 70E, etc.) preferred
- Preferred: Familiarity with Arizona ROC B-1 General Commercial Contractor requirements

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role is primarily site-based and may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, industrial equipment, and construction environments. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, standing, and visual review of technical documents are required. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
