A Japan-based global manufacturer specializing in proprietary advanced material technologies, providing various functional material solutions to customers across automotive, electronics, industrial, and other manufacturing industries worldwide.

General Summary

We are seeking a motivated Sr. Sales Manager/New Business Development to develop new business and expand sales of proprietary functional material solutions in the North American market.

This role focuses on new account development across targeted industries and requires close collaboration with management and overseas headquarters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop new accounts, including regional sales representatives, distributors, and direct customers
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities in target markets and industries to achieve aggressive sales goals
  • Manage and grow customer relationships through regular communication and follow-up
  • Maintain accurate records of customer information, sales activities, contact reports, and correspondence in the designated CRM/database
  • Actively participate in assigned projects, working groups, and internal initiatives
  • Attend meetings as directed by management
  • Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to keep management informed of activities and progress
  • Perform all duties under the direction of the President and/or overseas headquarters

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5–10 years of experience in sales, account management, or program management within manufacturing, materials, or engineering-related industries
  • Experience developing new business and opening new accounts (hunter mindset)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Experience selling to or working with OEM industry: semiconductor, electronics, industrial equipment, or manufacturing companies is highly preferred
  • Japanese conversational skills are required (ability to communicate with Japanese-speaking stakeholders)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn proprietary materials, products, and technologies

Working Conditions

  • NO REMOTE Base– San Jose office -on-site
  • About 25%–50% travel, including occasional weekends
  • Relocation Support is available
  • NO visa sponsorship is available
  • Salary Range: Base $150K + Incentive 50K+
