Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing senior-level managers
  • Proven experience overseeing plant-wide operations including production, assembly, and warehouse functions
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold teams accountable and drive performance
  • Experience working in a Japanese manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to analyze profitability, production data, and operational KPIs with a logical, numbers-driven approach
  • Comfortable enforcing policies, giving direct feedback, and developing subordinates
  • Experience collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Japanese language ability is highly preferred
  • Must be able to work full-time on-site in a manufacturing plant environment

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall plant performance including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
  • Manage Warehouse, Production, and Assembly operations to ensure on-time delivery and production target achievement
  • Lead and develop managers and supervisors to create a high-performance, accountable work environment
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including elimination of Muri, Muda, and Mura, and enforce 5S/3T standards
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Scheduling, and Japanese stakeholders on capital investments, process improvements, and Kaizen initiatives
  • Monitor equipment capacity and utilization; coordinate with Engineering on upgrades or new equipment
  • Review production forecasts versus actual results and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Manage labor planning including attendance, overtime, and vacation approvals
  • Establish efficient operating conditions to reduce scrap, improve quality, and enhance safety
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement preventive countermeasures
  • Ensure proper training plans, skill matrices, and safe work practices are maintained
  • Report critical issues in a timely manner to executive leadership and communicate effectively with both U.S. and Japanese teams
