On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Sr. Accounting Associate.
Position: Sr. Accounting Associate
Location: Toronto Ontario (In Office 5 days per week)
Working Hours: 9:00AM- 5:00PM
Employment Status: Permanent Full Time
Compensation: $70-75,000 per year (Depending on experience) + Full Benefits
Overview
Sr. Accounting Associate has primary responsibility for the accounting operations of the company, including the production of periodic internal and external financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is highly desirable
• CPA designation or is qualified to sit CFE ( CPA exam's final)
• Minimum 3 years of related experience
• Experience in SAP is an asset
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
Position Responsibilities
• Primary day-to-day responsibility for reporting, planning, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company including direct responsibility for internal and external accounting, working capital finance, operational job costings and financial analysis, budget preparations for annual planning and new business proposals.
• Providing timely and accurate month end closing process including reconciliations of general ledger accounts, preparation of monthly financial statements, report and analysis of various budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
• Maintain a strong emphasis on internal controls and compliance
• Prepare year-end financial statements and manage preparation of external financial statements with public accountants.
• Make recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS and all applicable federal, provincial and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
• Passionately strive to provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders
• Ability to self-start and manage special projects as assigned
