Position Summary

A well-established Japanese health food company is seeking a bilingual (Japanese/English) Assistant QC / Operations Support professional to join its U.S. headquarters in Torrance.

This is a hands-on, entry-to-junior level position ideal for a flexible, motivated candidate who wants to gain broad experience across quality control, customer support, and operations.

The role works closely with Management, Japan HQ and manufacturing plants in Japan, supporting quality compliance, customer inquiries, and daily business operations. This position offers long-term stability and career growth within the company.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control (QC) / Compliance Support

  • Support product quality control and compliance activities in coordination with manufacturing plants in Japan
  • Review and manage QC-related documents to ensure compliance with government and FDA regulations
  • Communicate with Japan factories regarding quality inquiries, label updates, and regulatory questions
  • Assist with responses to FDA inquiries and product quality-related issues

Customer Support / Operations

  • Handle Japanese- and English-speaking customer inquiries (primarily e-commerce customers)
  • Process phone and online orders (U.S. office is the only office in the U.S.)
  • Pick, pack, and ship products directly to individual customers
  • Support seasonal events and promotional activities
  • Assist with receiving shipments and handling products
  • ※ Some physical work is required (lifting about 10 pounds for 30–40 minutes as needed)

Japan HQ / Management Support

  • Serve as a communication bridge between the U.S. office and Japan HQ / factories
  • Support the General Manager and management team with daily operations
  • Assist with sales support for surrounding regions as needed
  • Act as an all-around management assistant

Marketing / Digital Support (Secondary Priority)

  • Support marketing initiatives, digital advertising, and website improvements if experienced
  • ※ Primary focus will be QC and customer support initially

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong interest in working for a Japanese health food company
  • Flexible, positive, and willing to handle a wide range of responsibilities
  • Ability to multitask and support operations in a small office environment
  • Background in biochemistry or science is a plus, but not required
  • Able to perform light physical work related to product handling
