Location: Georgetown, KY

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Travel: Up to 35% (may include weekends/holidays)

Salary Range: $58,000–$65,000


Overview

A machinery distributor and installation-services provider for the automotive industry—specifically supporting Toyota-related operations—is seeking a Sales Engineer for its Trinity Division in Georgetown, KY. This division specializes in paint system applications, equipment installation, conveyor systems, robotics integration, and related manufacturing technologies.

This role is well-suited for candidates with machine, conveyor, or manufacturing engineering knowledge who enjoy a combination of engineering work, project coordination, and customer interaction.


Key Responsibilities

Customer & Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate customer meetings, on-site inspections, and project discussions for equipment such as paint booths, ovens, conveyor systems, pre-treatment systems, and E-coat systems.
  • Communicate customer requirements to engineering teams in Japan.
  • Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and technical specification reports (most customer communication in English).

Cost Estimation

  • Request design and parts quotations from engineering teams in Japan.
  • Obtain quotes from local vendors and subcontractors for materials, construction, and installation services.
  • Compile and submit formal cost estimates to customers.

Equipment & Shipping Coordination

  • Confirm equipment specifications with customers.
  • Coordinate shipping logistics and manage related costs.
  • Prepare installation instructions and construction-site documentation.
  • Coordinate on-site work between Japanese supervisors and local contractors/staff.

Project Management

  • Oversee installation, modification, and construction projects at customer facilities.
  • Lead status meetings between customers and contractors to communicate progress and resolve concerns.
  • Prepare completion reports and project closeout documentation.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Experience or knowledge in machine engineering, conveyor systems, and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Understanding of:
    • Psychrometric charts
    • Duct and piping pressure loss
    • Heat source calculations
  • Basic sheet metal knowledge
  • Material selection and processing methods (bending, cutting, welding)
  • Equipment selection based on engineering requirements (pumps, fans, valves, filters, etc.)

Requirements

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Japanese speaking preferred (not required)
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 35%, including weekends/holidays
  • Flexibility to work nights or weekends depending on project needs
  • Willingness to train in specialized in-house technologies
  • Other duties may be assigned by management
