Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (Occasional evening or weekend work may be required)
Salary: $110,000–$130,000 + Bonus
Position Overview
This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities with U.S.-based OEMs and Tier 1–2 suppliers in the automotive industry, while also managing existing customer programs and projects.
The position requires a balance of business development activities (approximately 60–70%) and project management responsibilities (approximately 30–40%), supporting customers with technical solutions and ensuring successful execution of projects from quotation through launch.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Management
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with OEMs and Tier 1–2 suppliers in the U.S. market
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customer engineering, purchasing, and program teams
- Communicate product value propositions and propose cost-effective technical solutions
- Provide product training, technical support, and after-sales assistance
- Maintain regular customer communication to ensure satisfaction and timely issue resolution
Sales Operations & Quotations
- Prepare, present, and negotiate quotations, estimates, and commercial proposals
- Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to overall profitability
- Analyze market trends and customer data to identify growth and improvement opportunities
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth commercial and operational execution
Project Management
- Coordinate with internal departments including engineering, production, logistics, and quality
- Monitor project schedules, costs, progress, and deliverables
- Manage customer expectations and provide regular project status updates to management
Corporate & Strategic Alignment
- Align sales and project activities with company strategies, KPIs, and group objectives
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and customer visits
- Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives within sales and project processes
- Contribute to a collaborative, compliant, and positive team culture
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in business development or technical sales within the automotive industry
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Customer-focused, analytical, and well-organized approach
- Basic understanding of engineering concepts and cost structures
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Fluency in English (Japanese language skills are a plus)
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
Preferred Experience
- Experience developing new customer accounts from the ground up
- Knowledge of display technologies, In-Mold Decoration (IMD), and/or In-Mold Labeling (IML)
Work Conditions
- Office-based position with occasional visits to factories or customer sites
- Some walking and light lifting (up to 20 lbs) may be required
- Ability to distinguish colors and maintain visual acuity
- Up to 50% travel, including international travel
