Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid: 4 days onsite)

Salary Range: $75-110K

Summary

A Japanese restaurant is looking for a bilingual (Japanese/English) professional to support executive leadership and bridge U.S. operations with Japan headquarters.

This role provides high-level executive and operational support to the Vice President, serving as a key liaison across borders. Responsibilities include interpretation and translation for executive meetings, coordinating cross-functional communication, supporting store operations improvement initiatives, and helping ensure policies and procedures are implemented consistently across locations.

Essential job duties

Interpretation and Translation

• Provide consecutive interpretation for executive meetings, business discussions, and on-site visits involving the Vice President.

• Serve as the primary liaison with Japan headquarters, translating Japanese/English business and operational communications.

• Ensure accurate, culturally appropriate, and confidential handling of all translated and executive materials.

Administrative and Executive Support

• Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Vice President, including calendar, meetings, travel, and communications.

• Prepare presentations, reports, agendas, minutes, and executive summaries for internal and cross-border meetings.

• Coordinate projects, track action items, and act as a liaison between the Vice President and internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution.

Store Operations Improvement Support

• Identify store-level operational challenges and support project management efforts to drive effective solutions.

• Create, translate, and localize store manuals, SOPs, and operational guidelines in alignment with local requirements.

• Support system rollouts and conduct on-site store visits to ensure smooth implementation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in restaurant operations, hospitality, or a related operational environment.
