Project Construction Engineer – Immediate Opening

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 (DOE)

Travel: ~25%

Overview

Seeking a Arizona B-1 General Commercial Contractor licensed Construction Project Engineer to support a major customer in the Phoenix area. This role focuses on the design and construction management of water treatment systems, including coordination with contractors, review of engineering drawings, and oversight of site activities.

Qualifications

  • MUST HAVE Arizona B-1 General Commercial Contractor license
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering field preferred.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in water treatment or large-scale piping/construction projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of P&ID and piping drawings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with MS Project preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD or BIM drawings (design experience not required).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • EIT preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour and safety certifications (CSP preferred).
  • Specialized safety training (HAZOPER, ESS, NFPA 70E) preferred.

Work Conditions

  • On-site, 5 days per week at the project office.
  • Approximately 25% travel to project sites outside Arizona

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage construction of water treatment systems and related facilities.
  • Plan and coordinate site facilities, safety equipment, and temporary installations in compliance with U.S. regulations.
  • Develop and coordinate delivery plans for equipment and components.
  • Review and track site progress, schedules, and documentation.
  • Resolve construction issues in collaboration with contractors and partner companies.
  • Attend meetings with clients to address requirements and concerns.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports and maintain accurate construction records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and company standards.
  • Report issues affecting schedule, safety, or cost to management.
