About the Position

This is a full-time Temp-to-Hire position.

The role will start as a temporary assignment and has the potential to convert to direct hire after approximately 3 months, based on performance.

Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating international import and export shipments and supporting Procurement, SCM, and Sales teams. This role ensures smooth logistics operations, accurate documentation, timely delivery, and proper freight cost processing.

Key Responsibilities

International Logistics Operations

  • Coordinate and arrange international import and export shipments (air, ocean, and grC)
  • Communicate with overseas vendors, customs brokers, and freight forwarders
  • Prepare, review, and analyze shipping documents, purchase orders, Incoterms, and harmonized tariff codes
  • Provide shipping and delivery instructions to customs brokers and freight forwarders
  • Follow up on shipment status, delays, urgent requests, and last-minute changes
  • Ensure on-time delivery to customers and distribution warehouses, including US–Mexico shipments
  • Coordinate domestic transportation and drayage
  • Obtain Proof of Delivery (POD) 
  • Documentation & Compliance 
  • Ensure all import/export documentation is accurate and compliant 
  • Determine correct import duty rates in coordination with customs brokers 
  • Maintain shipment records and related documentation files 
  • Enter shipment data and update tracking/progress reports 

Cost Control & Internal Support

  • Monitor air and ocean freight costs and brokerage charges
  • Process freight payments in coordination with Accounting (Cost Center, GL codes) 

Support daily order fulfillment and distribution operations

  • Assist internal teams with logistics-related inquiries and issues

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Entry-level candidates are welcome 
  • Logistics, supply chain, or related experience preferred but not required

Skills

  • Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred (SAP experience is a plus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Language Requirements

  • Japanese bilingual (read, write, and speak)
  • English business communication skills required
