Japanese Bilingual Project Manager – Retail Media Business (U.S.)

Overview

The Japanese tech startup is hiring a Project Manager to lead a U.S. retail media business. This role will act as a bridge between a Japan-based product team and U.S. partner companies, with a strong focus on managing proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and preparing for broader market rollout.

The business is currently in the PoC phase, working closely with local partners. You will play a key role in aligning product development, partner execution, and U.S. market needs.

Working Conditions

  • Location: Texas (Dallas area)
  • Compensation: Around $100,000 (DOE)
  • Work style: Primarily remote with travel to partner sites
  • Travel: Occasional trips to Japan and domestic U.S. travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage PoC projects in collaboration with U.S. partners
  • Maintain ongoing communication with partner companies and gather customer insights
  • Coordinate closely with the Japan-based product and engineering teams
  • Translate U.S. market requirements into product feedback and localized specifications
  • Track project progress, analyze results, and prepare reports and presentations
  • Support local business operations, including regulatory research and market monitoring

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project management experience, ideally in global or cross-border environments
  • Business-level proficiency in English and advanced professional proficiency in Japanese
  • Experience working as a liaison between business and technology
  • Background in SaaS, platform businesses, partnerships, retail tech, or AdTech
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Flexibility on business trips, mostly to TX, other states, and Japan as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience living or working in Texas
  • Knowledge of retail media or digital advertising
  • Basic technical understanding (e.g., digital signage, networks, Android-based systems)
