Position Summary

The International Logistics Coordinator manages global import/export operations and trade compliance, working closely with overseas headquarters, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams. This role supports process improvements, cost analysis, and special projects to ensure compliant, efficient, and timely international logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate import/export logistics and ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations (USHTS, USCBP, EPA, C-TPAT, COO/NAFTA)
  • Liaise with overseas HQ (Japan), customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to resolve documentation, EDI, and shipment issues
  • Lead logistics-related projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Negotiate freight rates and analyze transportation costs
  • Arrange and manage air and ocean export shipments
  • Support insurance claims, audits, and government inquiries
  • Monitor orders from receipt to delivery and respond to customer inquiries
  • Provide Japanese–English translation support as needed
  • Maintain logistics data, reports, and documentation (ISO purposes)

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of international logistics experience, including import/export coordination, documentation, and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of USCBP regulations and trade compliance
  • Japanese proficiency (speaking, reading, writing) required
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Advanced Excel skills; SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
