Position Summary

The Inside Sales Supervisor oversees a team of Inside Sales Coordinators and manages assigned customer accounts and trade lanes. This role focuses on customer retention, revenue and volume growth, service quality, and team performance. The supervisor ensures smooth communication with overseas branches, supports both domestic and international shipments, and acts as the primary escalation point for operational and sales-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise Inside Sales Coordinators, including workload prioritization, scheduling, and daily task assignment.
  • Monitor and maintain strong communication with assigned customers; respond promptly to inquiries and service requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, management, and external partners to resolve operational issues and identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead and support operational and sales-related problem solving.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, compliance standards, and industry regulations.
  • Provide quotations for air and ocean import/export shipments, including triangle shipments and RFQs.
  • Oversee special handling for priority customers, first-time shipments, or unique commodities.
  • Serve as the primary escalation contact for account support, service issues, and general inquiries.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and address performance concerns.
  • Assess staffing needs and support onboarding/training for new hires.
  • Prepare customer performance reviews and share growth opportunities with the sales department.
  • Ensure KPI targets are met and take corrective action as needed.
  • Maintain clear communication with overseas offices and U.S.-based customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned by managers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant operational experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience, or demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Japanese–English bilingual proficiency (fluent level).
  • Ability to work on-site daily (limited remote options after initial period).

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in sales or sales management.
  • Experience coordinating with international branch offices.
  • Strong understanding of air/ocean freight operations and customer service practices.

Other Details

  • Position reports to the Inside Sales Manager.
  • Bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance.
  • Immediate start available for qualified candidates.

Hours: 9:00 AM–5:30 PM (30-minute break); minimum 40 hours/week

Employment Type: Full-time (primarily on-site; limited remote work may be considered after onboarding)
