Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA ( Hybrid Once every 2-3 weeks)
Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to support daily accounting operations and monthly closing activities. This role will be responsible for general ledger functions, tax reporting support, audit preparation, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Support monthly, semi-annual, and year-end closing activities
Manage general ledger (GL) reconciliation and journal entries
Assist with sales and property tax reporting and other required filings
Prepare documents and support communication for annual audits and government/state reviews
Support corporate tax reporting preparation
Create monthly/quarterly financial reports for internal and consolidated reporting
Maintain financial controls in alignment with company policies and compliance standards (e.g., SOX/JSOX)
Review and resolve discrepancies in accounting records and reports
Maintain fixed asset records, including purchases, transfers, disposals, and physical inventory counts
Document accounting processes and procedures as needed
Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
4–10 years of accounting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end closing processes
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Experience with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains or similar) is a plus
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities under deadlines
