The System Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure strategies that support evolving customer needs. This role involves evaluating products, ensuring seamless system integration, and aligning engineering efforts with performance requirements and regulatory standards. Collaboration across functional teams and clear communication with stakeholders are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze interactions between components, subsystems, and larger systems.
Ensure compatibility and seamless communication between integrated components.
Verify that integrated systems meet performance, reliability, and specification standards.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration-related issues.
Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary engineers, developers, and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, specifications, and test procedures.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or chemical engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience with battery systems, including Lead and Lithium Ion technologies.
Strong knowledge of Battery Management System (BMS) protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP and CAN bus.
Experience with fault tree analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
Familiarity with safety standards for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS): UL 1973, UL 9540, UL 1741.
Understanding of fire protection standards for Lithium Ion batteries.

Skilled in writing clear reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
Capable of presenting information and responding effectively to inquiries from management, clients, and customers.
Japanese language proficiency is a plus.

Ability to perform basic and complex calculations including ratios, percentages, and graph interpretations.
Proficient in applying mathematical concepts to engineering and business contexts.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills in non-standardized situations.
Ability to interpret and apply instructions delivered via various formats, including diagrams and written schedules.
Planning and Organizational Skills
Effective time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.

Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
Technical Skills
Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
Working knowledge of engineering software tools is advantageous.
Certifications
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
