Bilingual Paralegal – Japanese/English

Location: New York, NY

Work Style: Hybrid, 2–3 days/week in office

Salary: $55,000–$75,000/year

A boutique immigration law firm in Manhattan is seeking a Bilingual Paralegal to support employment-based immigration matters, client communication, marketing initiatives, and general office operations.

Recent graduates with strong academic backgrounds and excellent English writing skills are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Support – Approx. 70%

  • Assist attorneys with employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant petitions
  • Support case intake, document preparation, and government filings
  • Conduct legal research and prepare written materials
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding case progress and inquiries
  • Manage deadlines and monitor time-sensitive immigration matters

Marketing & Business Development – Approx. 15%

  • Maintain and expand the firm’s contact database
  • Assist with marketing and business development materials

Office Administration – Approx. 15%

  • Support general office administration and document organization
  • Coordinate with vendors and IT providers as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Expert-level English proficiency, particularly written English, required
  • Japanese proficiency at the business level or above strongly preferred
  • Strong research, writing, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work with attention to detail
  • Previous legal, immigration, professional services, or office experience is a plus, but qualified recent graduates will also be considered
  • Writing sample may be requested during the selection process
