Japanese-English Bilingual Banking Associate

Location: Atlanta, GA

Compensation: $80,000–$130,000 base salary + bonus

Employment Type: Full-time

A leading global financial services organization is seeking a Japanese-English bilingual Banking Associate to develop and manage business relationships with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

This position combines business development, relationship management, credit analysis, and banking operations. The successful candidate will introduce a broad range of financial products to prospective and existing clients while working closely with colleagues in the U.S. and the company’s Head Office in Japan.

Key Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Develop new business relationships with SMEs by introducing banking products and services, including loans, trade finance, foreign exchange, and deposits.
  • Identify prospective clients and research companies currently operating or planning to establish operations in the U.S.
  • Collaborate with the Head Office in Japan to gather information about companies entering or expanding within the U.S. market.
  • Contribute to revenue growth by expanding the customer base and identifying new business opportunities.

Existing Client Development

  • Expand relationships with existing clients by identifying additional banking needs and offering appropriate financial products and services.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and develop a strong understanding of their businesses, industries, and financial needs.
  • Coordinate with the Head Office to gather information regarding clients’ business development activities in the U.S.
  • Respond to transaction-related questions and assist clients in resolving banking issues.

Credit, KYC, and Compliance

  • Analyze clients’ financial condition and creditworthiness and prepare required credit reports.
  • Collect and review Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation.
  • Assign and regularly monitor customer risk ratings.
  • Address compliance-related matters involving client accounts and transactions.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and files.
  • Prepare internal reports and other required documentation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in banking, financial services, business development, sales, or client support.
  • Business-level or higher proficiency in both Japanese and English.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate financial information and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously.
  • Client-focused mindset with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with international colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours when business needs require.
