Sales Representative (Restaurant Accounts)

Position Summary

Our client, a Japanese food distributor is seeking a Sales Representative to manage and grow restaurant accounts within San Diego area. This position is responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, processing orders, collecting payments, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate enjoys building long-term customer relationships and thrives in a field sales environment.

Essential Duties

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing restaurant customers.
• Prospect and acquire new restaurant and foodservice accounts.
• Visit and communicate regularly with customers to promote company products.
• Take customer orders and ensure timely follow-up and order fulfillment.
• Provide customers with product information, pricing, and promotional updates.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Collect customer payments and monitor outstanding balances.
• Deliver products to customers when necessary.
• Prepare sales reports and maintain accurate customer records.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities within the assigned territory.
• Meet assigned sales goals and contribute to overall business growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years of food industry sales experience.
• Restaurant or foodservice sales experience preferred.
• Experience developing new business while managing existing accounts.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Japanese or Spanish bilingual skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Japanese or Asian food products.
• Existing relationships with restaurants, distributors, or foodservice customers.
• Experience working for a food importer or food distributor.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
