Japanese Speaking Sales Representative (International Trading)

Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC

Type: Full-Time, 1-Year Contract (Possibility to Become Permanent)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm (On-site)

Pay: $30-40/hour depending on experience

As the business enters an exciting growth phase, they are seeking a Japanese-English bilingual sales professional to support business expansion, strengthen customer and supplier relationships, and help develop new opportunities.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a sales professional with experience in international business who enjoys building relationships and working in a dynamic, cross-cultural environment.

The successful candidate will support customer and supplier relationships, commercial transactions, and business development activities. Depending on experience, the position may be hired at either the Sales Representative or Assistant Manager level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage existing customer and supplier relationships while identifying new business opportunities
  • Develop and expand trading businesses across domestic and international markets
  • Negotiate commercial terms and pricing with customers and suppliers
  • Coordinate with logistics and transportation partners to ensure smooth execution of transactions
  • Monitor market trends and identify potential areas for business growth
  • Conduct market research and support the development of new products, suppliers, and customer channels
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive business expansion initiatives
  • Support the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through transaction execution
  • Participate in client meetings, business development activities, and relationship-building initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, international trading, procurement, or other related commercial functions
  • Experience working in international trading, cross-border sales, import/export, distribution, manufacturing, or other globally focused business environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of international trade processes and commercial transactions, including trade terms (e.g. FOB, CIF)
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative and flexible approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require
