Store Manager – New Store Opening Member

Location: Plano, TX | Full-Time

Salary Range: $60,000-70,000/year (exempt)

A well-established Japanese luxury fashion resale company is expanding into the United States and is seeking a Store Manager to lead the launch and operation of its first U.S. retail location in Dallas, Texas.

Specializing in the purchase and resale of high-end designer apparel, handbags, accessories, and luxury goods, the company has built a strong reputation in Japan and is now bringing its successful business model to the U.S. market. This is a unique opportunity to join the company at an exciting stage of growth and play a key role in establishing its U.S. presence.

About the Role

As Store Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, including merchandising, inventory management, team leadership, customer experience, and financial performance. This position offers significant autonomy and decision-making authority, making it ideal for an entrepreneurial retail professional who enjoys building operations from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to help shape store procedures, develop a high-performing team, and contribute directly to the success of a new business venture in the U.S.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations and ensure excellent customer service
  • Oversee merchandise purchasing, pricing, inventory control, and visual presentation
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop store staff
  • Monitor sales performance, profitability, and key business metrics
  • Create employee schedules and manage workforce planning
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and loss prevention procedures
  • Support the development of operational processes and best practices for future growth

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of retail management or supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience with inventory management, merchandising, and retail operations
  • Ability to analyze sales performance and drive business results
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Experience in luxury retail, resale, apparel, thrift, or related industries is preferred
  • Japanese language skills are a plus, but not required
