Resident Engineer – Automotive Tier 1 Supplier
Working Location: Novi, Michigan (Hybrid/Flexible Schedule)
A global automotive technology supplier specializing in advanced vehicle communication and connectivity systems is seeking a Resident Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Michigan.
This company develops innovative automotive components and systems supporting connected vehicles, mobility technologies, and OEM integration programs for major automotive manufacturers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the engineering interface between customers and internal teams
• Support new product development from concept through production launch
• Coordinate APQP activities, engineering changes, and design reviews
• Support prototype builds, plant trials, and customer meetings
• Collaborate closely with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering teams
• Drive problem-solving, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction initiatives
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
• 3–5+ years of automotive engineering experience
• Experience with APQP, DFMEA, CAD, and product launch activities
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Tier 1 supplier or OEM experience highly preferred
