Position Summary
The Customer Service Coordinator II is responsible for freight pricing, sales support, and customer relationship management within international logistics operations. This role focuses on preparing competitive quotations, supporting sales initiatives, and serving as a key point of contact for customer inquiries. Shipment execution is transitioned to operations teams after booking.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage freight quotations for air, ocean, and trucking shipments, including multi-modal and cross-border solutions
- Obtain and negotiate rates from carriers, vendors, and overseas offices; ensure pricing aligns with margin targets
- Support sales team by responding to quote requests, organizing customer requirements, and assisting with RFQs
- Participate in sales-related activities including upselling, cross-selling, and re-engaging inactive accounts
- Manage inbound leads and conduct outreach via phone and email
- Serve as primary contact for customer inquiries related to routing, transit times, feasibility, and pricing
- Maintain customer relationships through proactive communication and solution-based proposals
- Coordinate handoff of booked shipments to Customer Service/Operations teams
- Collaborate with internal teams, overseas offices, and vendors to align on pricing and service
- Track and report key metrics including quote-to-win ratio, sales pipeline, and activity logs
Qualifications
Required:
- 3–5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics coordination, or related customer service roles (air/ocean import/export)
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and transportation modes
- Experience preparing freight quotes and sourcing rates
- Strong communication and customer relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Japanese language ability (expert)
Preferred:
- Experience supporting sales or pricing functions within logistics
- Exposure to RFQs or large-scale logistics projects
- Experience with multi-modal or cross-border shipments

- This role focuses on pre-shipment coordination, pricing, and customer interaction; operations teams handle shipment execution
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
