Company Overview:

A Japan-based technology company in the hospitality and travel industry is seeking a Director to serve as the local representative of its U.S. entity. This position will support communication and governance between the U.S. operation and the Japan headquarters.

Position Summary:

The Director will serve as the local representative of the U.S. entity, supporting operational oversight and coordination with the Japan headquarters. This role will work closely with senior leadership and external partners to help maintain smooth business operations and basic compliance functions within the United States.

This is a part-time, hybrid position ideal for professionals with experience in corporate administration, governance, compliance, finance, or operations management within multinational organizations.

Key Responsibilities

HQ – U.S. Coordination

  • Act as a liaison between the Japan headquarters and the U.S. entity
  • Participate in meetings and communications with HQ as needed
  • Support alignment and information sharing between both offices

Vendor & External Partner Coordination

  • Coordinate with external vendors including accounting firms, legal counsel, and service providers
  • Assist with communication and follow-up regarding operational and compliance-related matters

Compliance & Administrative Oversight

  • Support basic compliance-related activities and internal coordination
  • Escalate relevant matters to HQ and external advisors when necessary
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare periodic operational updates and reports for headquarters
  • Assist with reviewing contracts and related documents
  • Maintain evidence of document reviews and approvals as required

Internal Control Support

  • Support internal control and governance processes for the U.S. entity
  • Review financial and operational documentation in coordination with HQ and external professionals

Qualifications:

Required

  • Business-level English communication skills
  • Experience in corporate administration, operations, finance, compliance, legal coordination, or governance
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both U.S. and Japan-based stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and professionalism
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Experience working with Japanese companies or multinational organizations
  • Experience as a Controller, Administrative Manager, Corporate Officer, Director, or similar role
  • Knowledge of U.S. corporate governance and compliance practices
  • Japanese language skills are a plus
