Finance & Investment Operations – Assistant Manager
Location: Remote (WA or CA preferrable)
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Period: Approximately 8-9 months from July 2026, period may be extended.
Working Hours: Standard business hours; flexibility to communicate across time zones as needed
Reports To: Head of Seattle Office
Hourly Pay: $40-$44
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Finance & Investment Operations professional on a temporary basis to support the team during a period of staff absence. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing team and assume key responsibilities across investment project operations, fund coordination, and daily treasury activities.
This role requires strong bilingual (English/Japanese) communication skills, as it serves as a key liaison between the parent company headquarters in Japan and U.S.-based entities, fund administrators, and financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investment Project Operations (Core Focus)
• Coordinate investment transactions end-to-end in collaboration with headquarters and external stakeholders, including transaction structuring, securities settlement with financial institutions, and regulatory compliance.
• Support investment operations across a range of deal types, including direct investments and fund-related transactions.
• Assist with preparation and management of quarterly financial reports, fund business plans, and cash flow summaries in accordance with headquarters requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between headquarters and U.S. entities for finance and investment matters, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
• Manage documentation and records related to investment transactions, including approval documents, contracts, and reporting materials.
2. Fund Operations Support
• Coordinate capital call notices, management fee payments, and reporting packages with external fund administrators and advisors.
• Support operations related to multiple U.S.-based investment fund entities.
• Prepare and support quarterly investment updates and overseas topic reports required by headquarters.
• Serve as an information bridge across U.S. entities, headquarters, and fund partners.
3. Corporate Treasury Operations
• Handle daily payment processing, cash positioning, and fund transfers.
• Monitor and forecast short-term cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity.
• Maintain and reconcile corporate bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Coordinate with financial institutions on banking documentation and service matters.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to cash and investments.
4. Corporate Governance & Administrative Support
• Assist with state and local government filings, business license renewals, and other compliance-related administrative tasks.
• Maintain corporate documentation and internal approval records as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in finance operations, investment fund management, or corporate accounting.
• Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken).
• Solid understanding of cross-border finance, securities transactions, and fund structures (GP/LP).
• Strong Excel skills; experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Flexibility to communicate with teams across different time zones when required.
Preferred Qualifications
• CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Prior experience with venture fund or cross-border investment operations.
• Familiarity with Japanese corporate reporting practices and headquarters communication protocols.
