A manufacturing company in Fremont, CA is hiring a Mechanical Engineer. The company’s products are widely used in industrial machinery, semiconductors, earthquake resistance, and the IT industry.
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering functions. The Mechanical Engineers develop, design, build, test, and evaluate mechanical devices and systems. Assignments are routine in nature and are carried out in accordance with general work instructions and established office practices, procedures, and precedents. The job position is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime wages.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
- Develop testing processes and perform testing and validation of new designs.
- Generate working prototypes for customer demonstration.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
- Conduct presentations (company introduction, product introduction, technical explanations, etc.).
- Create meeting minutes especially for engineering issue.
- Answer customer's engineering inquiries by telephone and e-mail.
- Prepare request forms (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, Consideration Request form – Kentoirai, and other requirements) upon customer’s request and sends these forms to company.
- Prepare paperwork (Inspection reports and Quotes) for repaired pumps.
- Perform any and all additional duties as required by company management.
- Required to travel throughout the US and Japan. Travel to other countries may be required.
- Permitted to initiate an NCR if any in-process defects or potential product defects are found/reported by customers.
- Judgement of suspected NCR items cannot be determined and/or shipped without QC and Manager authorization.
- Work beyond the authority listed above regarding NCR must be authorized by the Manager.
- Work with manufacturing team : help them with designing jig & fixtures, manufacturing process and problems, QC team
- Travel percentage 10-15% (not mandatory)
REQUIRED EDUCATION
A Bachelor’s Degree (four (4) year college degree) or equivalent is required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Intern experience working in engineering.
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products.
- Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other similar programs.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
- Skill in composition, setting up, typing accurately and with reasonable speed, a variety of correspondence, reports, and other materials.
- Ability to perform a variety of assignments and administrative duties requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment.
- Ability to meet and deal effectively with customers, associates, and the general public.

- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
