Position: Accounting Assistant (Japanese Bilingual)

Location: Pasadena, CA | Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Industry: Corporate / Finance

Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000/year

Summary of the Position

We are seeking a Japanese-English bilingual Accounting Assistant to support accounting operations and general administrative tasks. This role will work closely with the accounting team and assist with financial reporting, data entry, and coordination with group companies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance (Primary)

  • Monitor and reconcile cash balances, including subsidiary accounts
  • Perform data entry and journal entries using accounting systems (QuickBooks, STRAVIS)
  • Support payroll and 401(k) related processes
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
  • Perform bank reconciliations and intercompany transaction tracking
  • Coordinate with group companies on financial matters
  • Support tax filings and compliance-related reporting
  • Assist with internal control and audit-related tasks

Administrative & Office Support

  • Handle incoming mail and general correspondence
  • Manage vendor-related tasks (e.g., office equipment, shipping services)
  • Oversee office supplies and basic office maintenance (e.g., light replacements)
  • Support insurance-related administrative and accounting tasks

Qualifications

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English
  • 3–5+ years of accounting or related experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Basic accounting knowledge (Bookkeeping or equivalent is a plus)
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (STRAVIS is a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Work Environment & Schedule
