Position: Accountant (Japanese Bilingual)

Location: Pasadena, CA | Hybrid (2 days onsite)

Work Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000/year

Summary of the Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and bilingual (Japanese-English) Accountant to support daily accounting operations and general office administration. This role will handle core accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting support, while also assisting with payroll coordination and administrative functions.

This position is ideal for someone who is organized, hands-on, and comfortable working in a small team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance (Primary)

  • Process daily accounting tasks including journal entries, cash balance checks, and payments
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and intercompany balance tracking
  • Prepare invoices and support billing processes
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and closing
  • Support tax filings, audits, and compliance-related activities

Payroll & Coordination

  • Input and verify payroll data and coordinate with external payroll providers
  • Assist with resolving payroll-related issues

Administrative Support (Secondary)

  • Support general office operations including vendor coordination and supply management
  • Assist with employee benefits and insurance renewals (data collection, communication, documentation)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5+ years of accounting or related experience
  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
  • Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
  • Experience with payroll coordination is a plus
