Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly capable Warehouse Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse operations while driving warehouse automation initiatives, including the implementation of an upcoming ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System).
This role extends beyond traditional warehouse management and plays a critical part in operational optimization, systems integration (WMS / ERP / EDI), and data‑driven inventory control to support long‑term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, put‑away, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping
- Ensure inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and service level performance
- Manage warehouse product modification processes
- Align warehouse priorities with Inside Sales and operations teams
- Drive continuous improvement to optimize turnaround time and throughput
- Manage staff scheduling, productivity, training, and safety compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards
- Plan and execute annual physical inventory
Automation & ASRS Implementation
- Lead planning, implementation, and optimization of the ASRS system
- Serve as internal project manager coordinating with ASRS vendors, WMS providers, IT, and senior operations leadership
- Design operational workflows integrating automation and manual processes
- Identify opportunities to improve storage density, throughput, and labor productivity
- Develop warehouse layout and scalable operational strategies
- Establish and monitor key KPIs including order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and fulfillment lead time
Systems & Integration
- Manage and optimize warehouse systems including WMS, ERP (SAP preferred), and EDI integrations
- Collaborate closely with IT and external service providers to ensure system stability and data integrity
- Participate in system upgrades, implementations, and automation initiatives
Data Analysis & Operational Insights
- Analyze inventory movement and operational performance
- Develop reports and dashboards to support data‑driven decision making
- Use analytics to improve warehouse layout, picking efficiency, shipping accuracy, modification turnaround time, and service levels
Process Improvement & Scalability
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support long‑term warehouse automation, scalability, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of warehouse operations management experience
- Strong IT literacy; experience with WMS, ERP (SAP), and EDI preferred
- Project management experience in logistics or supply chain systems preferred
- Fluent in spoken and written English
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work performed primarily in a warehouse environment with standard office equipment
- Role is primarily sedentary but may require standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Occasional domestic business travel
- May require work beyond standard business hours as needed
