Position Summary:

The Assistant Operations Manager is a development-focused role designed to prepare high‑potential talent for future operational leadership. This position will initially concentrate on Inside Sales and Account Management, while building a strong understanding of branch operations, inventory management, and internal processes.

Working closely with the Operations Manager and cross‑functional teams, the Assistant Operations Manager supports sales growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Over time, this role will progressively assume broader operational responsibilities and play a key role in supporting branch management.

Key Responsibilities:

Inside Sales & Account Management

  • Manage and grow assigned customer accounts while maintaining strong, long‑term relationships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to pricing, delivery, product availability, and order status
  • Prepare and issue quotations; follow up on open inquiries and sales opportunities
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms as appropriate
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through effective post‑sales support and issue resolution
  • Develop sales forecasts and maintain accurate opportunity data in the CRM system

Sales Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate customer, sales activity, and opportunity data within the CRM system
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and activity summaries for management
  • Monitor customer demand trends and provide insight into market conditions and competitor activity
  • Participate in sales meetings, product training, and internal planning discussions

Operations Support

  • Support daily branch operations in coordination with the Operations Manager
  • Collaborate with sales, warehouse, and headquarters teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment
  • Assist with internal process improvement initiatives
  • Develop working knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and customer service operations

Inventory Control

  • Monitor inventory levels for assigned accounts and coordinate stock availability
  • Assist with inventory planning and replenishment based on forecasts and sales history
  • Support physical inventory counts and warehouse inventory control activities

Marketing & Business Development

  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and marketing events (approximately 3–4 times per year)
  • Support business development efforts to identify new customers and market opportunities
  • Represent the organization professionally at customer meetings and industry events

Leadership Development

  • Build in‑depth knowledge of products, customers, and internal systems
  • Gain cross‑functional exposure to sales, logistics, warehouse operations, and customer service
  • Support leadership initiatives and prepare for expanded responsibilities in branch operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 2–3 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer service
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional domestic business travel
  • Occasional work in a warehouse environment
  • May require work beyond normal business hours as needed
