Senior Associate – Energy Trading & Asset Management

Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)

Language: Japanese and English

A leading international energy company is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Energy Trading & Asset Management team in Houston. This role supports strategic initiatives, financial planning, and asset oversight within the company’s North American energy trading and investment portfolio.

The position works closely with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and Asia and provides analytical insights to support executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial planning, budgeting, and performance reporting for the energy trading business
• Monitor financial and operational performance of affiliate companies and energy assets
• Prepare analysis and materials for senior management and board-level discussions
• Lead or support strategic initiatives including asset optimization, ownership transitions, and integration planning
• Coordinate with trading, finance, risk, and legal teams on cross-functional projects
• Provide analytical insights and decision support for senior leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in energy trading, energy markets, corporate finance, asset management, or related fields
• Fluency in English and Japanese (written and spoken)
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Ability to manage projects and work across multiple stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred

• Experience in energy trading, LNG, power markets, or energy infrastructure
• Exposure to joint ventures, investments, or strategic projects
• CFA, CPA, or equivalent professional certification.
