Position Title: Accounting & Operations Assistant

Location: Torrance, CA

Employment Type: Full-time (Non-Exempt)

Work Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm, 7 hours/day, 35 hours/week

Employment Status: Temp-to-Perm

(After successfully completing 3–6 months, the position will transition to direct hire.)

Pay Range: $20 – $25/hour

U.S. subsidiary of a well-known Japanese confectionery manufacturer. The company imports and distributes snack products throughout the United States.

Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Operations Assistant to support our daily business operations. This is an entry-level friendly position, and training will be provided.

You will assist with basic accounting tasks, order processing, inventory coordination, and general office administration. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, willing to learn, and comfortable handling a variety of tasks.

Main Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance Support

  • Assist with monthly financial reports
  • Enter expense data and support general ledger updates
  • Process expense reimbursements
  • Help with invoice management and tracking payments
  • Support payroll coordination (processed through an external provider)
  • Prepare documents for tax filings and insurance renewals

Operations & Logistics Support

  • Process purchase orders and confirm inventory availability
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Prepare shipping instructions and coordinate with an external warehouse
  • Help manage inventory records
  • Support import documentation including FDA Prior Notice
  • Assist with product ordering from Japan headquarters
  • Support Amazon account management (product updates, inventory tracking, etc.)

Administrative Support

  • Maintain organized filing systems
  • Manage office supplies
  • Respond to emails and phone inquiries
  • Greet and register visitors
  • Help manage company web accounts and corporate registrations

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Entry-level candidates are welcome
  • Basic understanding of accounting is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Japanese language skills are a plus but not required
