HR Generalist or Manager (High-Volume Hiring) — Japanese Restaurant Group

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid: 4 days onsite)

Hours: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Salary: $90–$120K (DOE)

Overview:

Japanese restaurant group is seeking an HR Generalist or Manager to lead high-volume recruiting and support HR/office operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute large-scale hiring; select job boards/media
• Create interview flow, screening, and hiring processes
• Office support: supplies, insurance, vendor/contract management
• Track/assist with renewals for licenses (incl. liquor license)
• Update work rules/employee handbook
• Support onboarding/orientation, harassment training
• Basic payroll understanding preferred

Requirements:

• 5+ years HR experience in NYC
• Hospitality or retail experience
• Understanding of Japanese culture; sushi lover a plus
• Proven experience with high-volume recruiting and process building
