POSITION: Sales Representative

SALARY: $65,000 – $80,000 (DOE)

LOCATION: Burlingame, CA

The company is looking for a motivated Sales Representative to join their team. This position is responsible for driving sales promotions, coordinating domestic and export sales, and providing customer service. The Sales Representative will identify potential customers, maintain relationships, develop strategic sales plans, and keep management informed of all relevant activities. He/she will also assist in the distribution of Japanese food products domestically or U.S. food products export to Asian countries. Key responsibilities include order management, complaint resolution, and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of our products. In addition, this role provides critical support to to the President by attending meetings, assisting in the preparation of business documents, and helping to refine operational procedures and practices.

Responsibilities:

Sales Promotions

  • Identify, engage, and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers, nurturing these relationships through regular follow-up, especially after submitting proposals.
  • Understand customer needs and budgetary constraints to develop and implement sales strategies, revising plans periodically as directed by management.
  • Develop comprehensive sales materials and deliver engaging presentations, introducing promotional products to stimulate demand.
  • Establish and meet clear sales and action goals, proactively implementing the strategic sales plan.
  • Pursue and capitalize on new leads and referrals from sales activities to diversify and expand the customer base.
  • Proactively communicate with current and prospective clients to identify sales opportunities, identify market trends.
  • Document all sales activities, customer interactions, proposals, orders, and issues in weekly reports to ensure management is kept informed.
  • Continually acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the company's products in order to promote them effectively.

 Domestic Sales Coordination

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the effective distribution of Japanese Wagyu to domestic wholesalers, adjusting strategies based on market trends, competitor activities and consumer preferences.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers by understanding and responding to their unique needs.
  • Provide accurate and timely product information and pricing to customers and manage order processes to ensure prompt and quality delivery.
  • Drive customer loyalty through effective promotional campaigns and initiatives.

Export Sales Coordination

  • Identify potential markets and customers in Japan and other Asian countries for the export of U.S. beef products.
  • Work with internal teams and external agencies to ensure compliance with export procedures and regulations.
  • Regularly update customers on order status and promptly respond to export-related inquiries.
  • Gain a deep understanding of international meat market dynamics, including trends, consumer behavior, and trade regulations, in order to develop effective strategies.
  • Streamline logistics and supply chain processes to ensure efficient and timely delivery of exported products.

 

Customer Service

  • Provide customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Document customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.

 

General Business Support for the President

  • Participate in team meetings, providing insights and suggestions for business growth and improvement.
  • Provide translation and interpretation to the President as needed to promote effective communication with diverse customer base.
  • Assist in the preparation of business presentations, reports and other key documents as required.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of procedures and practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Other

  • Contribute to project-based assignments, providing necessary assistance and support as required.
  • Continually seek improvements, focusing on more efficient and cost-effective work processes.
  • Undertake special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills both in English and Japanese or Chinese desired.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work in a team.
  • Willing to travel as required.
  • Sales related work for more than one-year preferred
