Company Overview

A manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee shift operations at its production facility. The organization emphasizes workplace safety, product quality, operational efficiency, employee development, and reliable delivery to customers.

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor oversees employees and manufacturing activities during an assigned shift, ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and shipment schedules are met. This role also supports employee training, workforce development, equipment readiness, and continuous improvement within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise manufacturing operations, production goals, machine activities, quality, staffing, and on-time shipment.
  • Monitor production processes, document problems, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Determine staffing and other resource requirements and assign personnel accordingly.
  • Ensure products meet required quality standards.
  • Report equipment maintenance needs and coordinate completion as necessary.
  • Enforce workplace safety requirements and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Identify and support employee training needs.
  • Supervise Group Leaders and support development of future Group Leaders and operators.
  • Maintain and execute required departmental performance activities and documentation.
  • Manage departmental environmental waste and proper use and disposal of consumable supplies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Manufacturing experience with demonstrated ability to supervise production operations.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving loud noise, dust, temperature changes, and industrial chemicals.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical activities including stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to comply with required PPE standards, including hard hats, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.

Preferred:

  • Some college education.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
