1. Position Summary

The Sales Representative, North America, is responsible for developing new customers and managing existing accounts in the North American market, primarily for either optical-related products (including optical adhesives, high-refractive-index resins, and optical connector–related products) or the company’s Intelligent Microphone (iMic), depending on the assigned product focus.

 

This role is designed as an Individual Contributor, requiring a high degree of autonomy and the ability to independently drive sales activities while collaborating closely with the Japan headquarters. Depending on business needs, multiple hires may be considered, with each role focusing on a specific product domain.

 

2. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in North America, particularly within optical materials / photonics industries or audio, sensing, and device-related industries

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, providing ongoing commercial and technical support

• Present and explain assigned products, including optical adhesives, high-refractive-index resins, optical connector–related solutions, or Intelligent Microphone (iMic)

• Collect customer requirements and market feedback and communicate them effectively to the Japan headquarters

• Prepare quotations, conduct price negotiations, and support contract-related processes

• Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events

• Conduct market research and competitor analysis as needed

 

3. Required Qualifications

• Business-level proficiency in English (Japanese proficiency is a plus)

• Experience in B2B sales, preferably in manufacturing, electronic components, optical products or audio / sensing–related products

• Ability to work independently and proactively manage sales activities

• Valid driver’s license for customer visits

 

4. Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of or experience with optical materials / photonics or microphone and audio sensing technologies

• Experience presenting products at exhibitions or technical trade shows

 

5. Location

Sunnyvale, CA (California)

• Hybrid work and full work-from-home arrangements are available, depending on business needs

• Employees working fully remotely may be requested to report to the office several times per year for meetings or other business purposes

• Business travel required for customer visits and exhibitions

• Candidates residing in California are preferred for operational efficiency related to tax, insurance, and compliance matters

 

6. Employment Type & Work Conditions

• Full-time, Exempt position

• Probationary period: 6 months

• Working conditions in accordance with standard North American employment practices
