Company Overview

A manufacturing organization in the automotive components industry is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support procurement operations across direct and indirect purchasing.

Position Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator supports day-to-day procurement activities by coordinating vendor information, purchase requests, purchase orders, pricing records, supplier documentation, and invoice/price discrepancy resolution. This role works closely with Purchasing, Production Control, Receiving, Accounting/AP, and external suppliers to support cost competitiveness, quality, and on-time delivery. The position also provides exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier management, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and audit supplier price files, catalogs, and related procurement records.
  • Organize purchase requests, purchase orders, and vendor packets.
  • Assist with invoice and pricing discrepancy resolution between Purchasing, Receiving, and Accounts Payable.
  • Prepare supplier scorecards, reports, cost comparisons, and special studies as directed by management.
  • Track and collect annual supplier documents and compliance requirements.
  • Support procurement processes related to automotive components and services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement, logistics, manufacturing, and business practices within an automotive environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional and interdepartmental tasks.
  • Data analysis skills for purchase ordering studies, cost comparisons, impact analysis, and effectiveness reviews.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of 5S methodology.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Accounting or finance experience.
